The 1991-1992 grunge revolution purged all forms of popular music, save rap. So by the end of the 90s, the pop music stage, small as it was, was set for Eurodance.
Here in San Francisco, you could not escape Alice Deejay's "Better Off Alone." People were getting cellphones, and the infectious and unforgettable synth riff was a ubiquitous ringtone.
But we audiophiles have had a hard time identifying this song. So here it is. When the girl asks, "Are you better off alone?," a few individual audiophiles (there aren't too many of us to begin with) answer, "Yes." C'mon guys, we can do better than that :-)
