Home Music Lane

It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

A few Celtic discs.

"Sweet Liberty"--Cara Dillon
Pop influenced Celtic. Similar to her previous disc but not as much variety in the music(tempi for the tracks are too similar throughout). Still love her child-like voice, but I don't enjoy this disc as much as her debut album although it does have some strong tracks.

"Sweet Liberty"--Susan McKeown
No, senility isn't setting in; there are two April U.S. releases of Celtic music with the same title. This one is very good. Greater depth to the singing than in Cara's disc, but McKeown's voice may be an acquired taste. Has some World Music influence but is pretty traditional. Mainly slow tempo songs with spare accompaniment.

"The Kinnitty Sessions"--Lunasa
May be the best Lunasa disc, yet. Nice variety for a purely instrumental disc. As the album cover says: "no overdubs, no studio trickery". Just great musicians kicking butt.

"Spirit"--Dervish
I don't like this one as well as some of their others. Still a great album and highly recommendable, but I've come to expect so much from Dervish that "Spirit" is a bit of a let-down.
