I know the data sheets have lower plate ratings than 850v but has anyone tried them this high? With 300V on the screen as well.I'm rebuilding a pair of Optimation amps originally fitted with 8417s. I know EL34s will work in this super pentode operation I have a pair of Bogen KO100 s that run 800 plate and 450 screen for a smok'n 90 watts using a pair of EH EL34s with surprising good sound.
What do y'all think can I push new KT88s or KT90s that high?
Thanks, Scott
