Just had my Dad's ST-70 and PAS 3 repaired/restored and I'm very happy except when set to Phono, I get an intermittent rumble and a constant hum.
The hum gets louder with the volume especially when knob turned past 50%.
I have the Turntable (Technics SL1300) grounded to the PA and the PA grounded to the Amp. When I switch it over to Spare (CD Deck) the hum & rumble both are gone. My thoughts are that I remember my Dad having some issue with hum & I think the new tubes may be producing the rumble? Is that possible? The rumble issue seems to be getting better the longer the equipment stays on. I have a 90 day warranty on the repairs and just throwing these concerns out there on Saturday afternoon before I call the Shop on Monday. Thanks in advance for your input.
