JR filter/surge suppressor -- implementation questions

65.194.5.102

Sorry for the repost-- but I could really use some guidence.

I've been thinking about the Risch filter kit from DIYCable, but I need more outlets than it supplies.

Here is what I have to power up in my current system (at a minimum): Digital source (modded DVD), active crossover, preamp, 2 channel amp for satellites, 2 plate amps for bass.

These items have to share a single wall socket in one way or another with a TV and hifi VCR, and whatever else I decide to add to my rig.

I have been thinking about the Risch filter, and building a single DIY powerstrip with a few quality duplexes. The outstanding issues in my mind are:

1. What should I plug into the wall, the filter, and the strip? The easiest plan, in my mind, is to daisy-chain the strip out of the filter. However, I could have each attached to the wall...?

2. How should I distribute the amps? Others have recommended no inductors on the amp outlets... should I bypass the inductors for one outlet on the filter and plug the strip into it, and the amps into that? Should I build the strip with some filtering instead, and plug it straight into the wall for the amps?

3. Where is the place to start? I would like to start out simply and as cheaply as possible to test whether this will benefit my system.

thanks all!
